Jo Ann had no inkling in all her choices of career, she’d find herself here, in real estate. Real estate was never on her radar, and this self-proclaimed Dame of All Trades was smitten the moment she opened the door. She’s since opened quite a few doors for clients and can confidently say, nothing compares to helping people find home.
Jo Ann hails from the tropical isthmus of Panama, was raised in the humidity of Cajun country in Louisiana, became a teenager and adult in RVA, escaped and found herself in the boroughs of New York and she finally came home to nest in what she now calls home, Richmond, VA.
Jo Ann has a background in Web Development and Marketing . Her real estate adventure began close to 7 years ago and although she’s been everything from a paralegal to a bartender, helping others through real estate is truly her pursuit of happiness.
In addition to her myriad of skills, she is also a published writer and photographer, and there has also been some stage and radio time sprinkled about. Jo Ann has a knack for making people laugh and enjoys helping others discover worlds they may have never considered being part of. She takes pride in giving back and supporting local business as a tribute to her city and community.
Culture is a huge part of who she is (says the Chinese-Panamanian-Cajun American ) and she loves learning about linguistics , history , and listening to stories . She graduated from VCU with a Computer Science degree, she uses to her advantage, but her heart is in words, pictures, and places.
When not showing houses or listing them, Jo Ann enjoys live music , writing , binging on period or indie flicks , singing karaoke in hideaway motorcycle shops ( Pat Benatar would cringe ), photographing interesting things and events, indulging in red wine , watching Liverpool demolish other teams, or working on developing her writing endeavors. Most importantly she values her time with her Canadian, who is an electrician by trade and musician by passion, and his 11 year old, who shares her love for runway fashion and dancing.
